GHOST BOOKS
Archival ink prints on paper, 42 x 59cm each

‘Ghost Books’ is a series of re-imagined famous book titles, from Moby Dick to The Shipping News, where humans and sea-going vessels have combined to tell a story. These echo-like images suggest a distant, not-quite-in-focus, memory of snuggling up with a good book with as night draws in. The purposeful mis-register in the prints is a reminder of how these literary works crackle through into our collective subconscious, haunting our thoughts of the coast and sea. They've all been re-created as Penguin Classic book covers, even if they originally weren't, simply because that tends to be our go to image of what classic books should be.
